Sunshine fills the void

There were many times in my life

That I felt a sense that

Life was futile.

It scares me to think

That sinking only

An inch deeper

Could have brought about

The end.

Life, like a void

That casts an empty,

cold and uninviting,

thoughts of hopelessness

life left me

uninspired.

The void of space does not allow

The sunshine

To penetrate

Its icy vastness,

But here on earth

Our atmosphere

Grabs and holds

Not just the light

But the warmth.

You allowed me

To fall

From the endless

Nothingness

Of space

Crashing down

to terra firma

where your sunshine

gave me enough heat

and illuminated

my senses,

bringing meaning

into hopelessness

and life into

death
